Dam Passionata was successful in Small Tour
Cadence, freedom of the shoulders, power, back activity, flow—all performed optimally and always with spirit and presence. Souverain was one of the absolute highlights of the KWPN licensing in 's-Hertogenbosch/NED and was celebrated accordingly by the audience.
In 2026, Souverain will present his first crop of foals, which are eagerly awaited.
His sire Sezuan catapulted himself to 16th place in the WBFSH ranking of the world's best dressage sires as the youngest stallion. He owes this to his highly successful offspring, including Olympic Team and European Team Champion and individual bronze medallist Wendy de Fontaine/Isabell Werth, Grand Prix winner Special Blend/Isabell Werth, and Louisdor Prize winner DSP Sheldon Cooper/Corinna Harnisch. His licensed sons include Sky, German Young Horse Champion and record top price of the Stallion Market, Secret, Vice World Champion of young dressage horses and German Young Horse Champion, Sezuan's Donnerhall, two-time record stallion performance test winner, and So Unique, two-time premium stallion, stallion performance test winner, German Young Horse Champion, winner of the four-year-olds competition at the World Championships for young dressage horses and since then successful in advanced (S) level competitions with Isabell Werth/GER. Sezuan himself has also made the headlines with his sport career: ridden by Dorothee Schneider, he became the first stallion ever to win the World Championship title for five-, six-, and seven-year-old dressage horses. He then won international competitions up to Inter I. Since then, he has been trained up to Grand Prix level with Patrik Kittel/SWE. Previously, he won his Danish licensing, was record winner of his stallion performance test, Danish Young Dressage Horse Champion, Elite Stallion, and Stallion of the Year in Denmark.
His dam Passionata, successful in the Small Tour with Karolien van den Brandt/BEL, is the half sister of the licensed Grand Prix stallion Razotti (by Romanov)/Julia Groenhart/NED. She also produced the licensed stallion Quazotti (by Quaterback), who won international competitions for young dressage horses with Naoufal Hassani/MAR, participated in the World Championships for six-year-old dressage horses, and then competed in the international Small Tour. Her daughter Orange (by Vitalis), who was successful in intermediate (M*) level dressage competitions, produced the licensed stallion Salvation ES (by Bloomberg).
His dam's sire Stedinger, himself a son of our revolutionary sire Sandro Hit, won the Oldenburg licensing in 2002 and the Ib main premium in 2004. He was trained up to high level and, after moving to Australia, was victorious up to Inter I and became Australian Champion. He has produced over 40 licensed stallions, including World Young Horse Championship participant Sir Galanto/Koochi Harada/JPN as well as Spirit of the Age OLD/Bernadette Brune and Steve Wonder M/Ferdinand Csaki, who were both successful in Grand Prix. Amongst his sport offspring, Gut Wettlkam's Stand By Me OLD/Lisa Müller, who was placed in World Cup freestyle competitions, and the Grand Prix horses Fil Rouge/Laurence Roos/BEL and Novia/Victoria Nielsen stand out.
His grand-dam Ariane's Pappion competed internationally in the Small Tour with Shane de Ben/BEL. She is the half sister of the internationally successful junior dressage horse Jack Sparrow (by Everdale)/Anique Frans/NED, who competed in the 2023 Junior European Championships in Kronberg. Pappion's half sister Wildrose (by Donatelli) produced the junior horse Dimple (by Tuschinski).
In the following generations, Dream of Glory, Wolkentanz II, and Sion appear as valuable representatives of the Donnerhall, Weltmeyer, and Sultan stallion lines.
The stallions Fürstino (by Fürstenball) and Benissimo (by Belissimo M) as well as the Grand Prix dressage horse Do it my way (by De Niro)/Sandra Walther/AUT descend from the Hanoverian line of Nordspitze.
