Always motivated and focused! Sénégal de Fontaine is a stallion who is simply a joy to train and handle. And the son of Isabell Werth's Wendy de Fontaine, who also combines the bloodlines of the best performing stallions of the century Donnerhall, Rubinstein, Ferro, and Sandro Hit, passes on this spirit to his offspring, as well as his wonderful appearance, his correct conformation, and his magnificent paces. The most recent example is his daughter Sweet Sister, who was sold for a record price of €29,000 at the Derby Future Dreams Foal Auction. Sénégal de Fontaine impressed in all aspects at his 35-day test in Denmark and came fifth in the competition with a total of 828.5 points.

His sire Springbank II VH was Danish licensing winner and winner of his stallion performance test (10 for rideability and general impression), won the Swedish Young Horse Championships three times in a row, the Danish Championships for young dressage horses twice, and came fifth at the World Championships for young dressage horses as a five-year-old with an overall score of 9.18 (9.5 for canter and overall impression). In 2020, he won the qualification for the Danish Dressage Horse Championships for six-year-olds by a landslide. The final could not be held due to the coronavirus pandemic, just like the World Championships for young dressage horses, for which Springbank II VH was selected. Ridden by his new owner, Yara Reichert, he effortlessly succeeded the jump to advanced level as a seven-year-old and was placed twelfth at the World Championships for young dressage horses in Verden. In 2023, he came seventh in the Louisdor Prize final for young Grand Prix horses in Frankfurt/GER and has since been successful in Grand Prix at CDI5* competitions. The reserve champion of his stallion performance test, Åtoftens Springtime, is one of Springbank II VH’s licensed sons.

Sénégal de Fontaine is a son of Wendy de Fontaine, Olympic team gold and individual silver medallist in Paris/FRA, as well as European Team Champion and double individual bronze medallist with Isabell Werth. In 2019, the Sezuan daughter won the bronze medal at the World Championships for five-year-old dressage horses with Andreas Helgstrand/DEN. In 2021, she came sixth in the final for seven-year-old dressage horses. In 2023, she also won the Grand Prix freestyle in Aalborg/DEN and was placed in the World Cup freestyles in Herning/DEN and Stuttgart/GER. Her son Ferdinand de Fontaine (by Franklin) has also already been licensed. He was a premium stallion in Mecklenburg in 2022 and placed in the final of the World Dressage Championships for five-year-old dressage horses in Verden in 2025. Since then, Wendy de Fontaine's son Dafoe de Fontaine (by Dynamic Dream) has also been approved for breeding.

His dam's sire Sezuan catapulted himself to 16th place in the WBFSH ranking of the world's best dressage sires as the youngest stallion. He owes this to his highly successful offspring, including the aforementioned Wendy de Fontaine/Isabell Werth, as well as the Grand Prix winner Special Blend/Isabell Werth, and Louisdor Prize winner DSP Sheldon Cooper/Corinna Harnisch. His licensed sons include Sky, German Young Horse Champion and record top price of the Stallion Market, Secret, Vice World Champion of young dressage horses and German Young Horse Champion, Sezuan's Donnerhall, two-time record stallion performance test winner, and So Unique, two-time premium stallion, stallion performance test winner, German Young Horse Champion, winner of the four-year-olds competition at the World Championships for young dressage horses and since then successful in advanced (S) level competitions with Isabell Werth/GER. Sezuan himself has also made the headlines with his sport career: ridden by Dorothee Schneider, he became the first stallion ever to win the World Championship title for five-, six-, and seven-year-old dressage horses. He then won international competitions up to Inter I. Since then, he has been trained up to Grand Prix level with Patrik Kittel/SWE. Previously, he won his Danish licensing, was record winner of his stallion performance test, Danish Young Dressage Horse Champion, Elite Stallion, and Stallion of the Year in Denmark.
