Third Place at the Westphalian Licensing

Half brother of the Grand Prix Stallions Selectric and Elton

Follower is the half brother of two licensed stallions: Elton (by Escolar)/Madeleine Witte-Vrees/NED, who was successful in the Big Tour at CDI Rotterdam/NED, and Selectric (by Sezuan)/Manuel Springhetti/AUT, the NRW state stud stallion, who was also successful in Grand Prix competitions.

“Beautifully lined and proportioned – a young stallion that is second to none. Incredible freedom of the shoulders, flexing of the hindquarters, and carrying weight. How he was able to extend his frame after the turn on the triangular track and pick up speed again. That was very high quality. He continues to work not only on a large scale, but also on a small scale. Simply a tremendous young stallion, just as he stands here before us," said Westphalia's breeding director Thomas Münch, making no secret of his admiration for our Follower, who made a triumphant appearance at the licensing in Westphalia and was rewarded with third place.

His sire Follow Him's Schönweide's was a premium stallion and completed his stallion performance tests with high scores. The Oldenburg Breeding Association named him Ia Main Premium Winner for his first crop of foals. Following top placings in competitions for young riding and dressage horses, he won intermediate (M*) level dressage competitions with Ann-Kathrin Lachemann with scores of 9.0. Several of his sons have been licensed, including Follow Up/Gonzalo Rodriguez Diaz/ESP, a finalist in the German Championships for young horses.

His dam Debby produced two other licensed stallions: Elton (by Escolar)/Madeleine Witte-Vrees/NED, who was successful in the Big Tour at CDI Rotterdam/NED, and Selectric (by Sezuan)/Manuel Springhetti/AUT, the NRW state stud stallion, who was also successful in Grand Prix competitions.

His dam's sire is the Holsteiner De Kooning, one of the last direct sons of the great Donnerhall still used for breeding. His offspring who are successful in Grand Prix are led by Terhi Stegar's Grand Prix winner Dalou Shan. Amongst his twelve licensed sons is the DSP licensing winner Del Re, who has been placed up to St. Georges level.

His grand-dam Walhalla produced the two licensed stallions Der schwarze Heinrich (by De Kooning) and Abu Dhabi (by Ampere; S*-Dr.), the Grand Prix dressage horse Dezdemona (by De Kooning)/Maria Ignatyeva/RUS, and other intermediate (M) level dressage horses. Walhalla’s daughter Hann.Pr.St. Deja Vu (by De Kooning) produced the German Young Riding Horse Champion, London Eye (by La Vie). St.Pr.St. Djarkarta (by Don Gregory) produced Royal Romanov (by Romanov), who was placed at St. Georges level.

His great-grand-dam Andorra produced the licensed stallion Montserrat (by Metternich), while his full sister Minerva produced the licensed stallion Da Vinci (by Dancier).

The licensed stallions Anhaltiner (by Akzent II), Dorian (by Donar), Gratulant (by Grannus), Salut le bon (by Sandro Hit), Wacholder (by Wettstreit), and Weingold (by Weingau), as well as the sport horses Sidney (by Sir Donnerhall II; Inter I), Diva Jay (by Don Vino; St. Georges), Dominikus de Cologne (by De Niro; St. Georges); Weltmeyers Romanze K (by Weltmeyer; advanced (S) level dressage), Relano (by Romanov; Inter I), Waldmeister (by Weltferdl; 1.30m SJ), Wallou (by Waikiki, 1.40m SJ) and Frascati (by First Class; 1.40m SJ) also descend from the Hanoverian line of Dodica.
