Third place at the Westphalian Licensing and Second Top Price of the Stallion Market

"This young stallion was an absolute discovery and made it from the preliminary selection to the final ring – and did so with very harmonious performances, great suppleness, confidence, and self-assurance, with very good work and rhythm on the lunge and equally good walk and wonderful physical development," said Westphalia's breeding director Thomas Münch, summarising the impressions of the licensing commission. Finishing in third place, Excuse Me then took his well-deserved lap of honour to the cheers of the spectators at the licensing in Münster-Handorf.

Excuse Me comes from the first crop of the Westphalian licensing winner Extra Gold, who made a winning debut in sport in competitions for young riding horses. Extra Gold’s dam St.Pr.St. Aweih H, herself victorious with Stefanie Viehoff-Wolf in advanced (S*) level dressage competitions, is the daughter of Weihegold OLD and half sister of our stallion Total Hope (by Totilas), who was successful at the Olympics and European Championships, and of the licensed stallion Jewel's Sir Weihbach (by Sir Donnerhall I). Weihegold OLD was Oldenburg Champion Mare, winner of the Burg Cup and Louisdor Prize and, ridden by Isabell Werth, Olympic Gold medallist, triple World Cup winner and fourfold European Champion.

His dam Charmeur's Cherry also produced the intermediate (M*) level dressage horse First Filou M (by Fürsten-Look).

His dam's sire Charmeur was the winner of his stallion performance test in the Netherlands with 86.5 points, where he also won the Pavo Cup in 2011 and 2012 with Emmelie Scholtens/NED. He was placed fifth in the final of the 2012 World Championships for five-year-old dressage horses in Verden. In 2015, he was placed with Madeline Witte-Vrees/NED in the international Small Tour and, from 2018, was successful in the Grand Prix arenas of Aachen, Rotterdam/NED, Stuttgart, and Oldenburg. He has produced 16 licensed stallions and more than twice as many successful Grand Prix horses, such as Heartbeat W.P./Kasey Perry-Glass/USA, Herr Charmeur Coolhorses/Isabel Cool/BEL, and Charmer/Jorinde Verwimp/BEL, who were placed in World Cup freestyle competitions. They secured their sire a place amongst the top 20 in the WBFSH ranking of the world's best dressage sires. 

His grand-dam Dream Lady One M produced the licensed stallion Diamond of Glory (by Diamond Hit)/Malin Nilsson/SWE, who was placed in Inter I competitions. Her daughter Gribaldis Dream (by Gribaldi/T.) also produced the advanced (S) level dressage horse Esprit M (by Escolar). Dream Lady One's daughter First Lady M (by Fidertanz) is the maternal grand-dam of the premium stallion DSP Birkhof's Elocin (by Escamillo), who was DSP Champion and bronze medallist at the 2023 German Championships for three-year-old stallions with Anna Casper, defended his DSP title and won silver in Warendorf in 2024, and was Baden-Württemberg Champion and DSP Vice Champion, as well as placed ninth in the German Championships for young horses in 2025.

His great-grand-dam Angelique is the dam of the licensed stallion Whipsaw (by Weltrubin), who was successful in the Small Tour.

The stallions Vecario PS (by Verdi; 1.30m SJ), Arino (by Arianer), Goldschatz (by Goldlack I), Piquet (by Pilot), Fillis (by Ferragamo), and Lamerto (by Linaro), as well as the sport horses Baloucenta (by Baloubet du Rouet; 1.60m SJ), La Postella (by Pilot; 1.40m SJ), Filou Le Rouge (by French Kiss; advanced (S) level dressage), Sancentina (by Sanvaro; 1.40m SJ), Chalan (by Chacco-Blue; 1.40m SJ) and Lord Stalou PS (by Lord Pezi; 1.40m SJ) also descend from the Westphalian line.
