Victories in competitions for young show jumping horses
From the line of the stallion of the century, Quidam de Revel
The beautiful and powerful grey stallion Ciamant has already done very well in sport. His victories in competitions for young show jumping horses with scores of up to 8.5 include winning the qualifier at the Oldenburg State Championships in Rastede, although as a Zangersheide stallion he was not eligible to compete in the final. Ciamant shone at the Deister Championships with double clear rounds with Koji Harada/JPN.
His Holstein sire Catoki, himself a great-grandson of the influential Cor de la Bryère through his sire Cambridge, was the 2001 show jumping champion of his stallion performance test in Radegast, serial winner of competitions for young show jumping horses, Vice German Champion of five-year-old show jumping horses and fourth in the 2004 Warendorf final for six-year-olds. In 2005, he achieved his first international successes, culminating in victories and placings in the World Cup finals in Geneva/SUI and Leipzig, as well as in the Nations Cups and the Grand Prix in Vigo/ESP, Bordeaux/FRA, Doha/UAE, La Baule/FRA, Aachen, Hickstead/GBR, Calgary/CAN, Helsinki/FIN, and Valkenswaard/NED. From 2013 onwards, Catoki chased ribbons with the young Dane Emil Hallundbaek. His 72 licensed sons are led by Olympic finalist, European team gold and individual bronze medallist Ermitage Kalone ridden by Gilles Thomas/BEL, and his athletic offspring include WEG team bronze medallist and Nations Cup winner Catch me if you Can OLD ridden by Laura Klaphake.
His dam Erenice Horta competed in the 2013 World Cup final with Edwina Tops-Alexander/AUS. Her daughter Irenice Horta (by Vigo d'Arsouilles) came seventh in the individual final at the 2018 World Equestrian Games in Tryon/USA, with Lorenza de Luca/ITA. Five of Irenice Horta’s offspring are successful in international show jumping competitions, such as H5 Origi Horta (by Kasanova de la Pomme; 1.60m SJ)/Carlos Hank Guerreiro/MEX and Morris Horta (by Eldorado van de Zeshoek; 1.60m SJ)/Martien van der Hoeven/USA.
His dam's sire Diamant de Semilly won team gold at the 2002 WEG in Jerez de la Frontera/ESPA and team silver at the 2003 European Championships in Donaueschingen with Eric Levallois/FRA. For almost a decade, he was ranked amongst the top three show jumping sires in the world. In 2017 and 2022, he even led the rankings. Currently, the son of Le Tot de Semilly, who died in 2022 at the age of 31, out of a dam by Elf III, is placed fourth in the WBFSH ranking. Amongst his most successful offspring are the licensed prize-money millionaire stallion Don VHP Z/Harrie Smolders/NED and, of course, our stallion Diarado.
His grand-dam Berenice of Colors produced the two licensed stallions Le Diamant Horta (by Diamant de Semilly; 1.45m SJ) and Quint Horta (by Mosito van het Hellehof; 1.45m SJ) as well as other international show jumping horses.
His great-grand-dam Herenice de Baugy produced two licensed stallions: Isidoor van de Helle (by Canturo; 1.60m SJ)/Constant van Paesschen/BEL and Messi of Colors (by Elvis ter Putte; 1.50m SJ)/Josh Kindell/GBR.
His fourth dam Urenice de Baugy produced the stallions Far West de Baugy (by Laudanum xx; 1.45m SJ) and Jicky de Baugy (Papillon Rouge; 1.40m SJ).
Ciamant traces back to the mare line of the highly significant Quidam de Revel, which has produced countless stallions and top show jumping horses.
